Breaking news: Chicago Bulls to fire Forman, Paxson, and Hoiberg
It hasn’t hit the major media outlets as of yet, but the Chicago Bulls have decided to fire General Manager Gar Forman, VP John Paxson, and Head Coach Fred Hoiberg. Apparently, Bulls owner Jerry Reinsdorf simply cannot deal with paying the NBA Luxury Tax for a team that is doomed to miss the playoffs. Obviously... Read more »

Derrick Rose looking great, according to John Paxson and Gar Forman
Derrick Rose had another poor shooting night in Team USA’s blowout win over Lithuania in the 2014 FIBA World Cup of Basketball, making only one of his eight attempts. But according to quotes published by the Tribune’s John Byrne, John Paxson is pretty happy with the progress Rose has made during the tournament: “You’ve seen... Read more »

Derrick Rose quotes from Team USA training camp
I thought my readers would enjoy some Derrick Rose quotes from Team USA’s training camp this week in Las Vegas. Bulls’ draft pick Doug McDermott is a member of the Select Team that is there to practice against the Men’s National Team, and I have included a few Rose quotes about him as well. Many... Read more »

2014 NBA draft - should Bulls fans even care?
The NBA draft is usually can’t-miss TV for this writer, one of the most exciting nights of the year. But if you’re a Bulls fan, should you even bother watching this year’s draft? It’s no secret that the Bulls’ number one priority this summer is adding Carmelo Anthony to the roster, and who can blame... Read more »

LeBron Bulls target? I really doubt they waste their time

LeBron Bulls target? I really doubt they waste their time
If you would have Googled “LeBron Bulls” back in June of 2010, you would have been bombarded with links to stories about how the Bulls had a great chance to sign the 4-time NBA MVP as a free agent. Four years later, Google “LeBron Bulls” and the landscape is vastly different. You will find most... Read more »

Bucks 78, Bulls 74: Dunleavy scores 24, Marquis Teague and Tony Snell develop
In an outcome that should have surprised nobody, the Milwaukee Bucks beat the Chicago Bulls 78-74 on Tuesday night. The Bulls played without four starters, and for the most part Carlos Boozer lived up to his reputation as the team’s worst starter. He had 21 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocked shots, which sounds like a... Read more »

Bulls' GM Gar Forman speaks about Rose injury, tanking, rebuilding... some Bulls fans (the idiots) freak out
In case you didn’t catch it, Bulls GM Gar Forman spoke with ESPNChicago.com on Tuesday, saying pretty much exactly what you would expect a GM in his position to say. Unless you are a certain contingent of Bulls fans, of course. Apparently, they expected Forman to come right out and tell the media that the... Read more »

Don Ellis started covering sports professionally when he was 15. As a student assistant at Seeger High School in West Lebanon, IN, he was one of the first in the world to use, study and implement analytics in basketball. He attended Daytona State College and Ball State University, and some of his past credits include InsideHoops (NBA Runaround: The NBA According to Ellis) and ESPN Florida (The Florida Sports Reporters), where he was fortunate enough to work with many rising stars, including NFL Network's Dan Hellie, Redskins coach Jay Gruden, Magic radio and TV personality Dante Marchitelli, and WSB-TV (Atlanta) Sports Director Zach Klein. In addition to running the Bullsville blog and officiating basketball, baseball and football for the KHSAA, he is also a bass player and vocalist who writes and produces music in his spare time (you may remember his internet hit "I Hate Eddy Curry"). He's a 3rd-generation Cubs fan, a Bulls fan since the days of Van Lier and Sloan, and a life-long New England Patriots fan. He's seen Primus 9 times and thinks Les Claypool walks on water. By far his greatest accomplishment is being a father of three and grandfather of one.
