It's official - Bulls own the Raptors

It's official - Bulls own the Raptors
While I haven’t been able to confirm whether it’s a cash deal or if they took out a mortgage, the Bulls now officially own the Toronto Raptors. Playing without Pau Gasol (knee), Mike Dunleavy (stomach virus) and Derrick Rose (who keeps track after all these years), the Bulls were still able to go north of... Read more »

Gasol triple-double keeps Bulls close - Blazers 103 Bulls 95
A Pau Gasol triple-double with huge numbers – 22 points, 16 rebounds, and a career-high 14 assists – wasn’t enough for the Bulls as they dropped a 103-95 decision to Portland on Saturday night at the United Center. The first Gasol triple-double as a Bull – and the ninth Gasol triple-double of his career –... Read more »

Bulls 126, Lakers 115 in Kobe Bryant's final United Center game

Bulls 126, Lakers 115 in Kobe Bryant's final United Center game
The Bulls shot a season-high 55.7%, including 68.4% (13/19) from 3-point range, as they defeated the Lakers 126-115 in Kobe Bryant’s final game at the United Center. (No apologies for the oversized Kobe picture, a man with his resume deserves it) Derrick Rose and E’Twaun Moore (10/14 FG, 4/4 3’s) each had 24 points to... Read more »

Gasol, McDermott give big "FU" to Bulls fans in 116-106 Bulls win over Toronto

Gasol, McDermott give big "FU" to Bulls fans in 116-106 Bulls win over Toronto
Doug McDermott scored a career-high 30 points, Derrick Rose had 26, and Pau Gasol (18 points, 11 rebounds, 9 assists) fell one assist shy of a triple-double as the Bulls broke their 5-game losing streak with a convincing 116-106 win over the Toronto Raptors Friday night at the United Center. Perhaps the biggest surprise of... Read more »

Thibs watches officials hand Kings a win over Bulls

Thibs watches officials hand Kings a win over Bulls
Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau must be a closet Sacramento fan, because he stood there and let the officials hand the Kings a victory over the Bulls Thursday night. At least Joakim Noah showed that he has a pair, picking up a well-deserved technical after getting called for his complete bullshit fifth foul on a Demarcus... Read more »

Pau Gasol, Taj Gibson help Bulls 2014-15 season begin with blowout win over Knicks

Pau Gasol, Taj Gibson help Bulls 2014-15 season begin with blowout win over Knicks
Pau Gasol had a Bulls debut that all the pessimistic, front-office hating Bulls fans certainly can’t be happy about, as his 21 points and 11 rebounds in 29 minutes were a huge part of the Bulls’ 104-80 blowout win over the Knicks in the 2014-15 season opener at Madison Square Garden. While it was only... Read more »

Bulls vs Nuggets - one game that seemed like two

Bulls vs Nuggets - one game that seemed like two
The Bulls and Nuggets didn’t actually play two games Monday night in the United Center, but it certainly seemed that way if you were watching. The Nuggets completely dominated the first game, with Danilo Gallinari’s 25-footer giving Denver a 50-29 lead 5 1/2 minutes before halftime. That, however, was the end of Denver’s dominance on... Don Ellis started covering sports professionally when he was 15. The same year (1980), as a student assistant at Seeger Memorial High School in West Lebanon, IN, he was one of the first in the world to use, study and implement analytics in basketball. He attended Daytona State College and Ball State University, and some of his past credits include InsideHoops (NBA Runaround: The NBA According to Ellis) and ESPN Florida (The Florida Sports Reporters), where he was fortunate enough to work with many rising stars, including NFL Network's Dan Hellie, Redskins coach Jay Gruden, Magic radio and TV personality Dante Marchitelli, and WSB-TV (Atlanta) Sports Director Zach Klein. In addition to running the Bullsville blog and officiating basketball, baseball and football for the KHSAA, he is also a bass player and vocalist who writes and produces music in his spare time (you may remember his internet hit "I Hate Eddy Curry"). He's a 3rd-generation Cubs fan, a Bulls fan since the days of Van Lier and Sloan, and a life-long New England Patriots fan. He's seen Primus 9 times and thinks Les Claypool walks on water. By far his greatest accomplishment is being a father of three and grandfather of one.
