2014 NBA Playoffs 1st round predictions

2014 NBA Playoffs 1st round predictions
As I type this, we are about 6 hours from the start of the NBA Playoffs- also known as my favorite time of year. The Bulls don’t start their postseason until Sunday evening, so I’ll have the complete series preview tomorrow morning. Today, I’ll look at the rest of the first-round series. EASTERN CONFERENCE (1)... Read more »

The Bulls owe Jason Kidd a huge debt of gratitude

The Bulls owe Jason Kidd a huge debt of gratitude
The Bulls are going to have to get together and buy Nets coach Jason Kidd one hell of a Christmas present. Kidd sat Joe Johnson, Deron Williams, Paul Pierce (his 3 leading scorers), KG, Shaun Livingston and Mirza Teletovic- and started Jason Collins instead of Mason Plumlee- for Wednesday’s game in Cleveland. Predictably, the Nets... Read more »

Bulls at Bobcats Game Recap: No Rose, No Problem

Bulls at Bobcats Game Recap: No Rose, No Problem
The Bulls continued their dominance of the NBA’s bad teams Friday night, blowing out the Charlotte Bobcats 95-64 without Derrick Rose, who sat out to rest his sore back. The Bulls extended their NBA record by winning their 4th consecutive road game by 20+ points. They are now 5-1 on the year when Rose doesn’t... Read more »

Dwight Howard Would Welcome a Trade to Chicago? So What are the Bulls Waiting For?

Dwight Howard Would Welcome a Trade to Chicago? So What are the Bulls Waiting For?
I’m not sure how this wasn’t big news, but apparently on Friday, Dwight Howard completely changed his stance on being traded to the Bulls. The Chicago Tribune reported as much in today’s edition- again, I don’t see why this wasn’t bigger news earlier- saying that Dwight would now welcome a trade to the Bulls. Here... Read more »

Deng, Boozer, Hamilton All Score 20+ in Win over Bobcats

Deng, Boozer, Hamilton All Score 20+ in Win over Bobcats
Carlos Boozer, Luol Deng and Rip Hamilton all scored over 20 points as the Bulls- down four players- still had plenty to beat the Bobcats Saturday night. Rose missed his fourth straight game (sprained big toe), Noah (a late scratch) and Gibson both sat out with a sprained ankle, and JL3 missed the game with... Read more »

Bobcats at Bulls, 7 PM CT

Bobcats at Bulls, 7 PM CT
The Bulls will try for their third straight win tonight when former Bull Tyrus Thomas andĀ MJ’s Charlotte Bobcats visit the United Center. Sorry there is no Bullsville Radio preview- I asked several Bobcats bloggers to do the podcast, but none of them were interested- then again, if my team sucked as much as the Bobcats,... Read more »

    Bullsville

Don Ellis started covering sports professionally when he was 15. As a student assistant at Seeger High School in West Lebanon, IN, he was one of the first in the world to use, study and implement analytics in basketball. He attended Daytona State College and Ball State University, and some of his past credits include InsideHoops (NBA Runaround: The NBA According to Ellis) and ESPN Florida (The Florida Sports Reporters), where he was fortunate enough to work with many rising stars, including NFL Network's Dan Hellie, Redskins coach Jay Gruden, Magic radio and TV personality Dante Marchitelli, and WSB-TV (Atlanta) Sports Director Zach Klein. In addition to running the Bullsville blog and officiating basketball, baseball and football for the KHSAA, he is also a bass player and vocalist who writes and produces music in his spare time (you may remember his internet hit "I Hate Eddy Curry"). He's a 3rd-generation Cubs fan, a Bulls fan since the days of Van Lier and Sloan, and a life-long New England Patriots fan. He's seen Primus 9 times and thinks Les Claypool walks on water. By far his greatest accomplishment is being a father of three and grandfather of one.
