It's official - Bulls own the Raptors

It's official - Bulls own the Raptors
While I haven’t been able to confirm whether it’s a cash deal or if they took out a mortgage, the Bulls now officially own the Toronto Raptors. Playing without Pau Gasol (knee), Mike Dunleavy (stomach virus) and Derrick Rose (who keeps track after all these years), the Bulls were still able to go north of... Read more »

Jimmy looked as if he hadn’t missed a... Read more »

Bulls play no defense, lose 129-111 in Miami
The Bulls apparently had a big night out planned for South Beach, as they couldn’t be bothered to expend any energy playing defense during Tuesday’s 129-111 loss to the Heat. Bulls/Heat Box Score The Heat’s 129 points were the most they have scored in a game all season, and their 67.5% shooting from the field... Read more »

Gasol triple-double keeps Bulls close - Blazers 103 Bulls 95
A Pau Gasol triple-double with huge numbers – 22 points, 16 rebounds, and a career-high 14 assists – wasn’t enough for the Bulls as they dropped a 103-95 decision to Portland on Saturday night at the United Center. The first Gasol triple-double as a Bull – and the ninth Gasol triple-double of his career –... Read more »

The Bulls picked the perfect day to announce the name of their new D-League franchise (the Windy City Bulls) that will begin play next season, as a team full of D-League caliber players placed seven guys in double figures in a 109-104 win over the Wizards on Wednesday. Capping off a week that saw the... Read more »

Bulls 126, Lakers 115 in Kobe Bryant's final United Center game

Bulls 126, Lakers 115 in Kobe Bryant's final United Center game
The Bulls shot a season-high 55.7%, including 68.4% (13/19) from 3-point range, as they defeated the Lakers 126-115 in Kobe Bryant’s final game at the United Center. (No apologies for the oversized Kobe picture, a man with his resume deserves it) Derrick Rose and E’Twaun Moore (10/14 FG, 4/4 3’s) each had 24 points to... Read more »

Gasol, McDermott give big "FU" to Bulls fans in 116-106 Bulls win over Toronto

Gasol, McDermott give big "FU" to Bulls fans in 116-106 Bulls win over Toronto
Doug McDermott scored a career-high 30 points, Derrick Rose had 26, and Pau Gasol (18 points, 11 rebounds, 9 assists) fell one assist shy of a triple-double as the Bulls broke their 5-game losing streak with a convincing 116-106 win over the Toronto Raptors Friday night at the United Center. Perhaps the biggest surprise of... Read more »

Bulls lose in Cleveland as expected, but let's have some fun, intelligent Bulls fans

Bulls lose in Cleveland as expected, but let's have some fun, intelligent Bulls fans
The Bulls traveled to Cleveland for their first game after the All-Star break, and as any sane person would have expected, they lost. Final score Cleveland 106, Bulls 95. Disappointing at first glance, but considering the fact that Vegas had the Bulls as 12.5 to 13.5 point underdogs, the team actually performed a little better... Read more »

Kirk Hinrich is a veteran. Kirk Hinrich should know better. Kirk Hinrich made every Bulls fan who can’t stand his game look like a genius tonight. Jimmy Butler had 26 points, Pau Gasol had 25 points and 13 rebounds, and Nikola Mirotic continued to turn Taj Gibson into trade bait as the Bulls finished up this year’s Circus Trip with a fairly easy 102-84 win over the Nets in Brooklyn on Sunday. Bullsville

Don Ellis started covering sports professionally when he was 15. The same year (1980), as a student assistant at Seeger Memorial High School in West Lebanon, IN, he was one of the first in the world to use, study and implement analytics in basketball. He attended Daytona State College and Ball State University, and some of his past credits include InsideHoops (NBA Runaround: The NBA According to Ellis) and ESPN Florida (The Florida Sports Reporters), where he was fortunate enough to work with many rising stars, including NFL Network's Dan Hellie, Redskins coach Jay Gruden, Magic radio and TV personality Dante Marchitelli, and WSB-TV (Atlanta) Sports Director Zach Klein. In addition to running the Bullsville blog and officiating basketball, baseball and football for the KHSAA, he is also a bass player and vocalist who writes and produces music in his spare time (you may remember his internet hit "I Hate Eddy Curry"). He's a 3rd-generation Cubs fan, a Bulls fan since the days of Van Lier and Sloan, and a life-long New England Patriots fan. He's seen Primus 9 times and thinks Les Claypool walks on water. By far his greatest accomplishment is being a father of three and grandfather of one.
