Bulls Summer League roster, schedule

The Bulls Summer League roster has been released, and while it includes first round pick Doug McDermott and second round pick Cameron Bairstow, one name is conspicuously absent.

Nikola Mirotic, who will finally join the Bulls this season after three years of playing for Real Madrid, will not participate in the Vegas Summer League. I have more news on Mirotic, but you're going to have to check out Episode Two of BullsvilleTV for that.

Tony Snell, last year's first round pick, will also be playing in Vegas. Lance Thomas is the only other player with NBA experience who will be on the Bulls Summer League roster.

The NBA went to a championship format for the Vegas Summer League last summer, and this season will also crown a champion. Each team will play three games before starting a tournament format, and all the teams that participate are guaranteed to play at least five games.

The complete schedule and tournament format can be found on the league's official Summer League website.

The Bulls Summer League schedule for the first three games is already set.

Bulls Summer League Schedule

July 12 7:30 p.m. L.A. Clippers Thomas and Mack Center
July 13 7:00 p.m. Denver Cox Pavilion
July 15 3:30 p.m. Minnesota Thomas and Mack Center

The Denver game will be broadcast live on NBA-TV. The Clippers game will be shown on a delayed basis on July 13 at 3 AM CDT on NBA-TV. The Minnesota game can be seen on NBA-TV on July 16 at 3 AM CDT.

For fans that don't have the patience to wait 8-12 hours to see the Bulls Summer League games, the entire schedule is available through a Summer League League Pass setup for $14.95, but it is only available online.

As for the players who will be on the Bulls Summer League roster, they are just hoping to get an invite to training camp. With the team already having three rookies (Mirotic, McDermott and Bairstow) on the regular season roster, I wouldn't expect any of the Bulls Summer League players to make the squad unless they just dominate in Vegas.

Don Ellis started covering sports professionally when he was 15. The same year (1980), as a student assistant at Seeger Memorial High School in West Lebanon, IN, he was one of the first in the world to use, study and implement analytics in basketball. He attended Daytona State College and Ball State University, and some of his past credits include InsideHoops (NBA Runaround: The NBA According to Ellis) and ESPN Florida (The Florida Sports Reporters), where he was fortunate enough to work with many rising stars, including NFL Network's Dan Hellie, Redskins coach Jay Gruden, Magic radio and TV personality Dante Marchitelli, and WSB-TV (Atlanta) Sports Director Zach Klein. In addition to running the Bullsville blog and officiating basketball, baseball and football for the KHSAA, he is also a bass player and vocalist who writes and produces music in his spare time (you may remember his internet hit "I Hate Eddy Curry"). He's a 3rd-generation Cubs fan, a Bulls fan since the days of Van Lier and Sloan, and a life-long New England Patriots fan. He's seen Primus 9 times and thinks Les Claypool walks on water. By far his greatest accomplishment is being a father of three and grandfather of one.
