The Bulls are in Philadelphia tonight (6:30 CT, NBA-TV), trying to get to 2-1 while handing the Sixers their first loss. I'll be around again for the game, blogging and hitting the comments. Join me down there if you'd like to be in on the conversation.
This looked like an easy win a week ago, the Sixers spent the summer getting into full-boat tank mode for next year's draft, which is supposed to be one of the best in history. But they've opened 2-0 and might just give the Bulls a game.
We'll discuss it more as it gets closer to game time.
4th Quarter: This is looking like a good game down the stretch, really no excuse for the Bulls not to win this one. Who is going to step up big-time and be the #2 option down the stretch??
The Bulls must be working out an endorsement deal with Ambien, because they are simply sleepwalking through the fourth quarter of this game.
Wow. Literally all 5 Bulls and Hawes are the players in the paint. Hawes gets the ball?
When will Thibs get our offensive lineup on the floor? Get Boozer or Gibson out and Dunleavy or Hinrich in. Get the floor spread.
3rd Quarter: Looking pretty good on offense, I think Deng is forcing things somewhat.
Just a horrible shot by Deng, why a 21-footer with 15 seconds left on the shot clock?
Halftime: The Bulls have a nice 64-49 halftime lead.
I think Butler wants to be an All-Star AND All-Defense this season. He has started the season right where he left off, as a player who needs to be accounted for at all times.
The Bulls have pretty much made up for the lack of offense we saw in the first two games,
Decent start on the road for the Bulls, getting pretty easy shots most every time down the floor, they just aren't hitting them yet.
Very nice 2-man game with Deng and Taj. If Taj can hit that jumper, he'll get a lot of NBA 6th Man of the Year consideration.
Easily the Bulls' best quarter of the season so far.
