Luol Deng was named to the NBA’s All-Defensive 2nd team for the second consecutive year. Deng received six first-team votes and eight for the second team. Bulls at Sixers Game 6 recap: CJ Watson better stay out of Chicago

Bulls at Sixers Game 6 recap: CJ Watson better stay out of Chicago
I have seen my share of bone-headed plays in my lifetime of watching sports, but the one CJ Watson pulled at what turned out to be the end of the Bulls’ season might just take the cake. I’m sure that you saw the play if you’re reading this, but the Bulls had Game 6 won.... Read more »

Bulls at Sixers, Game 4 Recap: Officials rob Bulls, will Stern comment? Thibodeau needs to really complain, Phil-style
Three game officials made two of the worst calls in playoff history late in Game 4 Sunday, not officially costing the Chicago Bulls a victory but certainly derailing what was a great comeback. As a high school official myself, I am not one to usually criticize officiating, I know how hard their job is. But... Read more »

Bulls at Sixers Game 4: Time to earn a paycheck?

Bulls at Sixers Game 4: Time to earn a paycheck?
We all know who the highest paid players on the Bulls roster are. One is the MVP. One is the starting center, the one guy who really stepped it up in Games 2 and 3 in the MVP’s absence. The other two are the starting forwards, an All-Star and a former All-Star. Between them, their... Read more »

Bulls vs Sixers Game 3: Defense, rebounding are the keys, but Deng needs to step up

Bulls vs Sixers Game 3: Defense, rebounding are the keys, but Deng needs to step up
Forget Derrick Rose, the Bulls could have had Jordan and Pippen and Rodman and Kukoc and Kerr and they don’t win games giving up 59% shooting and getting outrebounded in playoff games. CJ and JL3 did a great job of replacing Rose’s production, combining for 27 points and 7 assists with two turnovers, shooting 11/23... Read more »

Don Ellis started covering sports professionally when he was 15. The same year (1980), as a student assistant at Seeger Memorial High School in West Lebanon, IN, he was one of the first in the world to use, study and implement analytics in basketball. He attended Daytona State College and Ball State University, and some of his past credits include InsideHoops (NBA Runaround: The NBA According to Ellis) and ESPN Florida (The Florida Sports Reporters), where he was fortunate enough to work with many rising stars, including NFL Network's Dan Hellie, Redskins coach Jay Gruden, Magic radio and TV personality Dante Marchitelli, and WSB-TV (Atlanta) Sports Director Zach Klein. In addition to running the Bullsville blog and officiating basketball, baseball and football for the KHSAA, he is also a bass player and vocalist who writes and produces music in his spare time (you may remember his internet hit "I Hate Eddy Curry"). He's a 3rd-generation Cubs fan, a Bulls fan since the days of Van Lier and Sloan, and a life-long New England Patriots fan. He's seen Primus 9 times and thinks Les Claypool walks on water. By far his greatest accomplishment is being a father of three and grandfather of one.
