Today in Music History: Bernard Edwards

On this date fifteen years ago, Chic bass guitarist and producer Bernard Edwards dies of pneumonia in a Tokyo hotel room.  He is forty-three.  In addition to Chic, he produced numerous other acts with partner Nile Rodgers (Diana Ross, ABC, David Bowie, Rod Stewart, Deborah Harry, et al).  Here is their biggest hit performed on The Midnight Special in '78:
