The Madness of March

Well, it took them eight years, but CBS finally figured out how to correctly feed the sporting public's insatiable appetite for March Madness.

By spreading the games across four television channels and staggering the start times (that should have been done a long time ago) they have made it possible to see every game and all the buzzer beaters.

No more coughing up money for Mega-March Madness, and no more getting stuck with a dog game because it involves a local team. So when UCLA was pounding  Michigan State in the first half of their game last night, I was able to switch over to the Gonzaga - St. Johns tilt.

We've already been treated to an upset - Morehead State over Louisville, and two great buzzer beaters in Kentucky-Princeton and Temple-Penn State.

Of course, the best thing is being there, and today, I'll be on press row at the United Center in Chicago for the second and third round games there.  I'll be the one with the Carolina hat glancing at my laptop every few minutes checking other games around the country
