Today in Music History: Andy Warhol

On this date twenty-four years ago, Andy Warhol dies at age fifty-eight after a gall bladder operation.  His main rock connection is that he managed and produced the Velvet Underground as well as designing the iconic 'peeled banana' album cover of their debut album The Velvet Underground & Nico.  Here is a song from this album:

  • Excellent song. I would have posted it had I been as familiar with Hunky Dory as with Station to Station, Aladdin Sane, Low, etc.
