Psychedelic Time Warp this weekend on Okemos Brewing and Zecom radio. We are running a theme show - it is our tribute to New Orleans and the Gulf coast states. It was recorded originally on the one-year anniversary of hurricane Katrina, but has been re-cut with new voice overs by the new voice of PTW, none other than Bart Shore of Shadow Traffic. The show features lots of great tunes of and from New Orleans, Alabama, and Mississippi. Catch some great oldies from The Funky Meters, The Dixie Cups, and Lil' Bob and the Lollipops. They do "I Got Loaded,"a song that was heard in the movie "Bull Durham." That version was by Los Lobos. It will also have the Grateful Dead, The Neville Brothers, The Radiators, and Little Feat.
Friday - Monday. Check the above links for times.
Speaking of Zecom - I will on the air there TODAY at 1 PM CT to spin some Psychedelic Tunes. Be sure to check it out. Zecom's website

Song of the day - by lpcdsounds
"Candy's Room" by Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band recorded live at The Capitol Theater in Passaic, New Jersey on 9-19-78. I saw many shows at the Capitol...sadly this wasn't one of them. Although, this show was broadcast live on the radio, so I did get to hear the show as it happened and rememb...er it like it was yesterday. This song originally comes from the "Darkness On The Edge Of Town" album which is due for a massive reissue in the coming months including a DVD of Bruce & company live. It's a most deserving album of the deluxe treatment and I'm looking forward to it. This is the quintessential Bruce song...it's got it all...bells, screaming guitar solos that show what a great guitarist Bruce really is and great lyrics (especially the opening line)...this album really captured the freedom of being 17 years old and living in New Jersey for me.
