It's beginning to feel a lot like Fall out there lately. It's the first day of October and it happens to be Monday. Which means I have a little motivation for you. In honor of the cooler months and the fall season I thought this quote was appropriate.
"Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall." ~ Confucius
It's easy to be hard on ourselves when it comes to failing or not wanting to fail. We would never begin to execute a plan if we thought it wouldn't work it out. No matter what plan or goal you have set for yourself, whether it be fitness, work or personal, sometimes things don't always work out as you thought they would. It is easy to get side tracked from working on a goal, or outside circumstances interfere with your original plan. Those that want to accomplish their goal will continuously find new ways to go about achieving it no matter what stands in their way.
The greats in life are remembered because they have triumphed over something. If it were so easy to accomplish a goal or a task no one would be interested in the story. The story being your life. Michael Jordan, for example was told no by coaches numerous times before he became the most well known basketball player in the entire world. Lance Armstrong is remembered and praised not just for his 7 Tour de France titles (I still believe they are all his), but his ability to accomplish that after overcoming a horrible cancer that sought to destroy his entire body. Steve Jobs was riding high as CEO of apple until he was 30 and then got fired from his own company.
These individuals wouldn't have accomplished so many goals if they just accepted what was put in their path. Be sure to surround yourself with those who will help lift you up when you fall. Stay positive and know that all of us at one point or another, Fall.
Have a fun and fit day, Chicago.
