My fitness routine to get ready for vacation

One main goal people have is to feel fit and ready for their vacation.  By ready, most people want to look their possible best because odds are they're going somewhere tropical.  Which means, swimsuits! Just like everyone else I want to look and feel great heading to my warm destination, although it's pretty warm here right about now.

One thing I love about vacation time for people is it's a great motivator to stick to a routine.  I will be the first person to admit that I have enjoyed this summer, which means I haven't been the best at my eating.  With multiple birthdays (including my own), 4th of July and BBQ'S it's been challenging.  Now, for the next week and a half I am determined and set on sticking to my goals.  Once you get into a routine of sticking to something it becomes easier to continue.

Here's what I'm doing to get ready.

1) Working out every day except one (for a rest day).  Yesterday was a circuit/strength training routine.  Yesterday yoga.

2) Eating clean.  Meaning lots of vegetables, lean proteins, no fried foods, whole grain carbs in the day and no carbs at night.

3) No Alcohol.  It doesn't do anything good for your body or help you get to your goal.

These are the 3 main things that I'm going to be working on.  I'll keep you updated and let you know what changes I see in the next week and a half.

Have a fun and fit day, Chicago!
