Happy Monday! I have had an inspiring Monday so far and wanted to share my thoughts with you. I met with the current Miss Illinois USA, Ashley Hooks who leaves on her journey for Miss USA this week (vote for her-she not only represents the state you live in, but she's intelligent, hard working and beautiful, [inside and out]). I met with her to give her some advice on what to expect and how she can prepare for her time in Las Vegas.
As I watched Ashley's excitement and anticipation for leaving, I remembered my own before I left. The entire process for me was an amazing one. I was again inspired to remember all the dreams I have gone after and all the ones I want to continue to go after. It's easy to forget what accomplishing a specific goal feels like. Aside from the daily feelings of accomplishment I get by checking things off the daily list such as; getting my workout in, cleaning and the usual errands, nothing compares to the major goals. The goals you've dreamed of, sweated for and sacrificed for.
If you've never had this feeling I encourage you to start thinking of your next big goal. It could be a work goal, a personal goal or something you never thought was possible. Everyone should have one of these accomplishments in their lifetime. The thing I think that holds most people back from this is themselves. The number one thing you have to do is decide to try. If you continuously give yourselves reasons why a task is not accomplish-able, you will certainly never know the outcome.
I am guilty of this as much as the next person. That is why I am extremely grateful to have signs, "messengers" or people (whichever you prefer)in my life to remind me that anything is possible. It is always when I remember this that great things seem to happen. I remember this quote from the hockey great, Wayne Gretzky:
"You miss 100% of the shots you don't take."
I love this quote because it is so very true. You hold the ability to accomplish anything you want. Go ahead and imagine the great, impossible and oh so wonderful. Don't worry about the outcome because no matter what the experience will be awesome.
Happy Monday! Have a fun and fit day, Chicago.
