Bright Pink's 3rd annual Fab Fest was Sunday and what a fabulous time it was. Bright Pink, founded in Chicago, is "the only national non-profit organization focusing on the prevention and early detection of breast and ovarian cancer in young women while providing support for high-risk individuals." I am a huge supporter of this organization and couldn't pass up the opportunity to be on the committee as well as participate in this event.
If you thought about hitting up fab fest you definitely should. The day was inspiring, fun, athletic and pampering. From yoga classes to self defense classes, Fab fest gave participants a chance to see what classes and instructors around the city are really like. Perhaps you wanted to try a cardio dance class at All About Dance dance studio, but didn't know if you would enjoy it. Or wanted to experience yoga at the relaxing Exhale spa but didn't know if you would like the instructors. This gave you the chance to find out.
The goodie bags were out of this world, as well. They were filled with socks, exercise dvds, Hugo Naturals all natural body products, makeup, yoga mat, ZON exercise ball and bands, the oh so tasty Mark Bars and so much more.
Giuliana Rancic was around to kick off and end the event. Her personal journey with Bright Pink was an inspiring story. It was great to hear some of the women at the event were inspired by her story to get themselves checked as well. Some owe their early detection to her sharing her personal experience with Breast Cancer.
It was a great event and with the 400 committed pledges and attendees the event raised over $240,000 up from $80,000 last year. Congratulations everyone! You have no doubt made a big difference in the world. :)
Have a fun and fit day, Chicago.
