Inspiring winners of my Hot Chocolate 15k/5k entry giveaway, and another chance to win an entry, today

The winners of the the Hot Chocolate 15k/5k have been chosen.  (If you didn't win, and still haven't signed up be sure to read and see how you still can, today).  With the help of some fun fitness females we went through all of the entries who commented and told us who their favorite running partner was, and why.  Kelli Zink-from Celeb TV and the Cheeky Health Freak from Cheeky Chicago, and Lauren Kaminsky from Outside the Girl Box helped me choose who should win the two entries.  It was a tough decision, as all of the entries were truly worthy of winning.  But one just happened to strike a chord with us.  Here was the entry:

I began running in March 2010 a year after the death of my
dear sweet 6 year old little boyfriend, Cody, to a devastating childhood
cancer, neuroblastoma. He is my motivation, my inspiration, my drive
to push myself beyond and my angel running buddy. Julie, has been an
inspiration and a running buddy this past year as she runs in honor of
her daughter who completed treatment for childhood leukemia last year;
together we run to honor and remember children impacted by childhood
cancer.

I sent Lori the email letting her know that she had won, and felt so happy when she replied,"you made my day".  I was compelled to know more about this story.  What made Cody so special to her? How did they know one another? Where can we go if we want to help in the fight against childhood cancers? I was so moved by her response that I have to share it with you exactly as she explained it to me.   Here is her story:

"Cody taught me that soul mates come in all ages.  I met Cody in 2004 when I was working at Georgetown University Hospital
as an art therapist in pediatric oncology.  Cody was 2 and a half when
we met and there was an instant connection between the two of us.
Everyone noticed it from his parents and siblings to the doctors and
nurses.  I became very close with Cody and his family throughout the ups
and downs of Cody's treatment.  He endured rounds of chemo, radiation
and a stem cell transplant throughout his treatment.  I moved back to Chicago in 2006 and at that time Cody was doing well. I believe it was Thanksgiving of 2007 that Cody's parents received the news that he had
relapsed.  Neuroblastoma
is a very aggressive and devastating childhood cancer.  The photo I
sent you is from May/June 2008 when I went to visit Cody and his
family.  When we saw each other for the first time in two years it was
like we had never been apart.  Cody gave the best hugs, held on tight
and always wanted more.  I returned again In December 08/January09 to
spend some time with Cody and his family.  We knew his prognosis was not
good and on March 6, 2009 Cody's little body could take no more.
Cody's parents founded Cody's Crew in his memory which funds research
for Neuroblastoma.  Each year they have a 5k run/walk and I believe they
have a team running the Marine Corp Marathon at the end of this month and are putting together a team for the Pittsburgh Marathon
and Half Marathon.  Cody's dad Mickey runs in memory of Cody carrying
the Cody's Crew flag for the every 13.1 or 26.2 miles he runs.
Thank you for listening to my story, asking about Cody and reading his
story."

After reading this story, I have no doubt that we chose the right
winner.  How truly wonderful it is to know that we can help so many
deserving individuals by exercising for specific causes.  I encourage
everyone to run in honor of someone they love or for an organization.
If we all work together, we can make a difference in the fight against
devastating diseases.

Lori and Julie are truly inspiring individuals. Their strength and
courage is extremely motivating.  I can't wait to meet them in person at
the Hot Chocolate 15k/5k.

If you would like to meet Lori, Julie, myself and win 2 entries to
