Do you ever REALLY relax?

I received a gift certificate to SpaForever in Bucktown for Christmas this year. Since my muscles have been feeling really sore lately I decided I should use my gift certificate on a deep tissue massage. Deep tissue and Sports massage is a great way to reduce tension in muscles after intense work-outs. Just make sure you communicate with your therapist about the pressure they use during your massage. Some deep tissue can be a little too much for people.
Paula, was my massage therapist. She spent time getting to know what muscles on my body needed the most attention. She also asked what kind of work outs and activities I do so she could determine how she wanted to run the session as well.
As I laid there I tried to relax and clear my mind.
Paula began the massage and since it was a deep tissue my mind focused on that and the muscles being worked (and that were in a little bit of pain, but good pain. I knew I would feel great when it was over). Needless to say, my mind kept wandering and I kept thinking about all the things I needed to get done. The people I needed to call, the emails that needed responses and things I forgot to do. I don't think I truly cleared my head until 20 minutes before my massage was to be over.
The massage ended and I felt great. My muscles were at ease and I was refreshed for the rest of my Thursday night. So thank you Paula.
My question is though, do we ever really relax? Yoga is a great way to relax and focus, but if you're a beginner are you really relaxing in class? What activities actually allow you to relax?
I'm interested to know what activities or lack of activities allow you to truly calm yourself and clear your mind?
Have a fun and fit day, Chicago.
