Looking for a fun way to keep your heart in shape? Check out the Chicago Blackhawks' Training Camp Festival on September 19th.
Do your body some good and sign up for the 5k run or walk, or the 10k skate. The race starts early at 8am or 9 am. Running the 5k will burn approximately 300 calories. In addition, your metabolic rate will stay elevated for a few hours after you run this race. Meaning your body will be continuously burning calories afterward. This is a great way to kick start your physical activity for the weekend.
If you're feeling like you want an even bigger challenge, check to see if there's still room for you and some friends to compete in the 3 on 3 Street Hockey Tournament.
For those of you who do not normally run to get your physical activity,
that's okay. I usually do not run either. However, I decided to
participate in the 5k. I look at this as a challenge. I will be
getting my body ready in the next week and a half to complete it.
Keep checking for tips to get ready for the race.
This is also a great event for anyone running the Chicago Marathon. It
will give you a chance to test your time, run for a good cause and get
your daily run in.
By participating you will even get to watch the Blackhawks practice. Some of the players may even be around to meet and greet.
To help Chicago
Public Schools bring school supplies and help the Blackhawks Stuff the
Bus for a good cause.
Have a fun and fit day, Chicago.
