Carmen Gutierrez asks about her 1956 Singer Model Sewing Machine.  John Walcher explains there are just thousands of old sewing machines on the market:

Singer was one of the largest manufacturers of sewing machines and therefore many of them are still readily available. The children's models are more desirable to collectors, especially with the original box. Children typically did not take care of their sewing machines like adults, which cause better condition examples to bring a premium. Overall, there are many factors that will take into account when determining the total value for your piece: the condition, whether or not it has the original case, if it is a table model or built into a sewing stand, etc. The typical range is anywhere from $20-$200. Children's examples can sell anywhere from $200-1,000 range.
