Are you looking for something unique to do for Valentine's Day? The Gay Liberation Network is organizing a picket at Holy Name Cathedral to bring attention to 'Freedom-to-Marry Day 2010' and that GLBT people are still not able to marry.
Here's the information from GLN:
In opposition to the desires of millions of lay Catholics for simple justice for all, the hierarchy of the Catholic Church has long aligned itself with, and often led, the forces of hate and bigotry opposing equal rights for gays and women.
At 10:30 AM on Freedom-to-Marry Day 2010 - Sunday, February 14, Valentine's Day - the Gay Liberation Network will host an informational picket of Chicago's Holy Name Cathedral, 735 N. State Street, to highlight the role the Church's leadership has played in promoting inequality.
So even though the a Police Committee passed a resolution against him, even though video evidence was presented, even though the community confronted the police, and even though nearly 40 people have filed civil lawsuits agains him...it looks as though alleged dirty cop, Richard Fiorito, will walk away scott free.
ChicagoPride.com is reporting that Cook County State's Attorny Anita Alvare will not press charges against Fiorito. Claiming that it investigated the cop for nearly a year, but there was not sufficient evidence...'to provie in a cour tof law accusations such as perfury or official misconduct.'
Interesting news, considering that Andy Thayer of the Gay Liberation Network sent out a press release a few weeks back announcing just this exact thing - only to have Alvarez's office disclaim it as 'false allegations"

Sex+++ Film Series will screen 'Graphic Sexual Horror' documentary and discussion featuring film director Barbara Bell at the Leather Archives & Museum on Friday, February 12th.
'"Graphic Sexual Horror" takes a peek behind the facade of Insex.com, a notorious bondage website, exploring the mind of its artistic creator and asking hard questions about personal responsibility. Original Insex footage, behind-the-scenes interactions, and interviews with website creator PD, models, members, and staff reveal deep fascinations with bondage and sadomasochism that run parallel, and in fact become irreversibly entwined with the lure of money.
