Trend Tracker: All Black Everything
I absolutely adore color but I have found myself veering toward black in the last six months. I even trimmed my Christmas tree in all black accouterments.
This new found love seemed to blossom out of nowhere, I can only assume it was based on a variety of environmental factors or the sheer fact of how incredibly easy the non-color is to wear.
You don't stand out in a crowd, you always match AND you look slim. What's not to love about that?
According to experts, there are a couple of big reasons. For one, it emphasizes the bags under your eyes and two, it tends to make wrinkles more prominent. They even go as far as to say that four out of five people cannot pull off black clothes.
What do you think? Are you tempted to throw away the black and make way for some color or are you stuck in your "the blacker the better" ways?

Best and Worst Fashion of the 00's
With an unnamed decade behind us and a new one about to begin, we can start to look back at the ten years we spent recycling the old, being ironic, and, of course, following fleeting trends.
View the gallery to see my picks for best and worst trends of the last decade. You will see the usual suspects and a few more you might have forgot(or hoped to forget) along the way.

Trend Tracker: Fur

Don't let your chic-streak go out the window with the warm weather. Slip into something that will keep your look fun and fresh in the frigid cold. Just as the Fall 09 runways recommended, fur could be the perfect solution to your style dilemma.
See how stylesetters from around the globe are wearing their plush pelts to help translate this trend into your own Midwestern wardrobe.
Street Steal: Look Fashionable in the Freezing Cold Pt. 1
Photo Via CopenhagenStreetStyle
The time between Fall and Winter in Chicago is tough. We go from "No Coat November"(this year, at least) to an all out blustery December. While it has not been that bad we all know the worst is yet to come. Which means it is due time to prepare our winter wardrobes.
Since we have not reached subzero, just yet, we should first plan a look that will work for those rare 40 degree days. To bear the not-quite-freezing weather, I found a casual, cold-weather outfit that we can all copy.
This ensemble is great because it will help us subtly stand out from the sea of North Face-Ugg boot uniforms and can be adjusted to anyone's particular style. For example, if you don't like black jeans, sub in a dark wash. Doc Martin's aren't your thing, wear an oxford.

Trend Tracker: Turquoise
Pantone, the leading authority on color, has decided that turquoise will be the official shade of 2010.
The blue-green hue may evoke memories of your mom's wacky eyeshadow in the 80's but was actually selected for its "soothing" properties. Pantone thought that at such a sullen time in our economy, it was best to select a color that would help us "escape from the everyday troubles of the world", a sentiment I think we can all agree to.
Although the new year has yet to arrive, the turquoise trend has already been spotted making its way around the globe. SOURCE
