Welcome to Vegan City

I’m a recent grad school grad, blogger (obviously) and an animal lover extraordinaire. I like writing, friends, family, nature, spinning, cooking and living the dream.

Vegan City! ChicagoNow's all vegan all the time all Chicago blog!

I'm Leah, the creator and author of this blog and I'll be taking you, the reader, on a wild, crazy, animal loving, cruelty-free ride through the windy city. As I continue to discover the vegan side of Chicago I'll share my discoveries on Vegan City, all discoveries, the good and bad.

Let's make this a working relationship, if you have an idea, a place you think I should check out, something you disagree with, a question, thought or just want to chat please contact me and I promise to respond.

I want to open all eyes to vegan living and show it is possible for everyone if they choose. I don't have a lot of money by any means (I'm a journalist people) and I'm not some crazy green-living hippie freak, I'm just a regular 20-something who chooses to live in the best way I know how, cruelty-free.

Welcome to Vegan City!

I'm also excited to see you here! Make sure to include the suburbs for those of us living in temporary exile?

Thanks for the welcome! You are not exiled, just a different world! Burbs may take some more intense research but I'm on it!

Just fyi, I'm from Chicago originally and I rigorously update the community-maintained veg. database, www.VegGuide.org. The site has a linkup with Mercy For Animals, and we have over 350 listings in Chicago, and another 200 in the suburbs (and even airports!). Please use the site as a resource; I've recently added a few vegan restaurants that are coming soon to Chicago....

PS---also write reviews on VegGuide! You'll be helping out the whole veg. community who might not stumble upon your site otherwise :-)

I'm looking forward to this blog too. I write the Chicago Eats Allergy Free blog. I eat a mostly raw vegan diet (although not exclusively vegan). I have some vegan readers too. A big warm welcome to you!

Leah this sounds so cool! Perhaps we can collaborate sometime? I've never made a completely vegan dish before!!

Welcome to ChicagoNow. I've definitely tried to plug vegetarian and vegan restaurants whenever possibly, primarily Quench, Vegetarian Life, Soul Vegetarian and my favorite--Loving Hut.
