If you've ever wondered what it's like to be an outsider in a strange land, be sure to check out Northwestern student Elizabeth Weingarten's blog, Qatar Chronicals.
Blogger to Know: A Woman in Qatar
Elizabeth, a former Today's Chicago Woman intern, landed in Qatar late last month. There, she's completing a journalism internship at Qatar Today. Our initial plan was for Elizabeth to guest-blog occasionally over here on TCW/ChicagoNow about her experiences...but a technicality that doesn't allow her to work for other publications while employed at Qatar Today quickly squashed that dream. However, that doesn't mean you shouldn't check out her writing, which promises to give plenty of insight on the life of an American woman living in the Persian Golf. Give her lots of click love.
Have another woman-focused blog you'd like me to recommend to readers? Feel free to post them in the comments and I'll check them out. After all, there's a special place in hell for women who don't help other women. Far be it from me to tempt fate.

Cassandra, thanks for introducing us to Elizabeth's blog! As a Medill grad who's super-psyched about Northwestern's journalism program in Qatar, I'm thrilled to know that U.S.-based students are getting a chance at international internships like this. The more GLOBAL we can truly become, the better off we'll all be -- especially those of us who call ourselves journalists.
