Erika's natural mane

She have been going to the same hair stylist for as long as she can remember.  She has followed her from salon to salon with her family in tow.  Her lifelong stylist is currently at Platinum Salon and Spa in Bloomingdale, IL.  Erika has shared a couple of her mane secrets...Patti her stylist has always recommended not to wash your hair everyday and she doesn't!  Erika says she is fortunate because her hair is not greasy and therefore she can wash her hair every other day.  She also says the best way to ensure you get 2-3 days out of a wash is by putting your hair up in a jazzy up do the last day.  Since she has been working at the Tribune, especially in sales she has learned wearing her hair in a low ponytail/bun looks great!

She typically doesen't use the same shampoo brand but always purchase a volume shampoo.  An important bit of information she has learned is you know your hair best, especially when it comes to texture be it curly or straight.  The all natural diva offers up one last styling tip; if you have straight hair and want to make it curly for a day with a curling iron, wash your hair at night and let it air dry.  Then in the morning use the curling iron, that way you will have more body and bounce.  Check out her awesome mane in the photo gallery above.
