My hope for The L-Blog is that it will become the place to come for info on events, people and commentary on queer women's lives and culture in Chicagoland. (You can read more about the idea behind the blog and what I hope to accomplish with it on my very first post.)
A little more about me: I've written on queer life and art, music, pop culture, media and feminist issues for publications such as The Village Voice, Time Out Chicago, Out, Punk Planet, Planet Out/Gay.com, The Daily Herald/Beep, Rockpile, UR Chicago and Newcity. I was one of the founding editors of the daily blog, Girlfriend is a Homo, and was also co-founder and managing editor of the now-defunct online magazine, CHILLmag for Chicago's Hip Independent Lesbian Lifestyle.
In 2007, I was a founder of Queer Fest Midwest, an all-day music and arts festival in 2007. I have given my opinion to Chicago Reader, Time Out Chicago, the Windy City Times' Nightspots and Feministing. Opinions, I'm full of them!
What else? I live in Andersonville with my two pugs, Stella and Lola, and would love for you to follow me on Twitter (@trishtype) and e-mail me with your events, tips and gossip at thelblogchicago@gmail.com. And if you're on Facebook, become a fan.
