Pride aside: Who stole Mary York's ashes?

I'll admit, it's pretty cool to own a piece of history. However, stealing it from the Howard Brown Health Center's garden is not really the way to go about it.

A memorial statue for Chicago lesbian activist Mary York was taken from the Center's Peace Garden and the saddest part is that it contains her ashes.

Of course, Howard Brown's employees are upset and would like it to be returned, no questions asked. So if you happen to notice your new girlfriend suddenly has a sweet-looking replica of the cover of Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, could you please ask her to give up moonlighting as a thief and give York back?
