Are you ready for a challenge?

I am.

Recently, Arlene and I received an email from our virtual friend, Joanna. Joanna is a charming, successful and talented writer and illustrator who pens a blog called Badaude. She actually illustrated Arlene and me for our About Us page. She's super talented in so many ways and we're so happy that our paths crossed in cyberspace. Anyway, Joanna decided to give herself a good old-fashioned challenge. She confesses to basically wearing only 20% of the clothes in her closet and to wearing a select number of pieces over and over again until she almost can't stand the sight of them anymore (I might be internalizing and embellishing a little, but you get the point).

This all resonates with me quite a bit. I love clothes and I have bought a lot of them over the years. I have treasures in my closet -- Alexander McQueen, Vanessa Bruno, Barbara Bui, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Chanel, Chloe, Phillip Lim, Mayle -- and I think it is high time that they all got to see the light of day. I am 100% guilty of wearing only a small percentage of my wardrobe and to falling into the trap of wearing a favorite item over and over and over again (um, hello grey Joseph cashmere leggings). So I've decided to give myself a challenge, too. I should mention that I also have a very real fear of putting myself out there in images for all to judge see. But, I'm going to steel my nerves, get creative and conquer my fears.

Starting this Monday, March 15th, I will post an outfit a day. I'll be delving into the deepest recesses of my closet to see what treasures may be found there and I will venture to re-find the love I had for these pieces when I very first brought them home. I hope to get myself out of a style rut and maybe broaden my horizons a little. Who knows? Maybe by posting a picture of myself every day I'll even manage to guilt myself into a dropping a pound or 2!

Check in with me here to see how I'm holding up. And please feel free to share your style rut and style discoveries with me. I can use all the support I can get!!

If you need me between now and Monday, you'll most likely find me in my basement amidst a sea of laundry and ironing... In the meantime, here's 2 pics of me trying to get into the swing of things. I'm wearing the same jeans, but the 2 tops have been in my closet for ages and haven't seen the sun in so long that they're both still squinting a little...

Just as a side note, I'm going to try -- very hard -- not to wear these jeans more than twice a week ;-)
