I Thought The Military Cared About Families

user-pic
If you're in the military and live on-base, forget about having a Rottweiler, Pit Bull, Doberman Pincsher, Chow Chow - or a mix of any of these, or suspected mix of any of these. Dogs are members of families. So, our military apparently finds it acceptable to break up families.

This ban is outlandish and without basis. Ledy Van Kavage of Best Friends Animal Society  alerted me a few months back, and I wrote two national newspaper stories. Part 1. Part 2.

Now the ASPCA has jumped on the story - Hopefully, the private consortium now managing military housing will relent.

Ignorance! How about they provide pet training to ensure that the pet owners are responsible, and provide vaccines to ensure that the dogs are not rabbies carriers? There are so many other means to ensure the safety of human being and pets. Breed banning is completely ignorant!
