I knew Hugh Jackman was done with hosting the Oscars. But I didn't realize it would take two people to replace him.
Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin will co-host the 82nd Academy Awards, producers Bill Mechanic and Adam Shankman said today.
I've got one request: No banjo-playing, Steve.
"I am happy to co-host the Oscars with my enemy, Alec Baldwin," Martin said in a statement from ABC, the network airing the March 7 ceremony.
Baldwin, of "30 Rock" fame, said: "I don't play the banjo but I'm thrilled to be hosting the Oscars--it's the opportunity of a lifetime."
Martin has hosted twice before, while Baldwin is new to the game. The two co-star in the December comedy "It's Complicated" with perennial Oscar favorite Meryl Streep.

Alec Baldwin won my heart after a few glances at "30 Rock" and scored extra points after being spotted and interviewed at this years U.S. Open.
A co-hosting with Steve Martin will be quite hilarious hopefully. I doubt I'll remember to catch it in real time, but will most likely enjoy watching the evening's highlights later on.

Alec Baldwin should be a riot, as should Steve Martin. But the key is to keep the show moving, and to not play banjo. :) Thanks for commenting
