SONS OF ANARCHY
9 p.m. Tuesday, FX
Tune in or out? out of four.

Kurt Sutter's searing drama about the Sons of Anarchy motorcycle club get better each week. I've loved it from the start of its first season, but every Tuesday I'm floored by how intense it gets and how far Sutter's willing to push his characters.

He pushes even harder in the latest episode, "Balm." The feud between Jax (Charlie Hunnam) and Clay (Ron Perlman) reaches a boiling point--with Jax deciding to leave the club and go "nomad." Gemma (Katey Sagal) takes drastic measures to stop him from leaving. Meanwhile, ATF Agent Stahl (Ally Walker, great Tuesday) puts pressure on Jax and Chigg (Tommy Flanagan) to double cross the Real IRA. Really, you should not mess with these women.

"Balm" is a 55-minute episode shown over 90 minutes, so make sure you adjust your DVR. You really don't want to miss a minute of it.
