CASTLE
"Vampire Weekend" episode
9 p.m. Monday, ABC
Tune in or out? out of four.

ABC's procedural dramedy "Castle" gives Nathan Fillion fans some special love this week with its Halloween episode, called "Vampire Weekend."

I know this show isn't high on a lot of hit lists, but it rarely disappoints me. I'm less interested in its merits as a crime story than I am in the relationship between novelist and NYPD helper Rick Castle (Fillion) and Det. Kate Beckett (Stana Katic), who just love to push each other's buttons. It's a hoot, in my opinion, and a great vehicle for Fillion to show his wit, charm and, yikes!, maturity. (I love the scenes between Castle and his daughter, Alexis, played by Molly C. Quinn, and mother, Martha, played by the wonderful Susan Sullivan.)

That being said, "Vampire Weekend" provides one of the better mysteries, revolving around the murders of a vampire and a werewolf. Say what? I've provided ABC's episode description, a video sneak peek and a look at the Fillion costume spoof. Check them out, if you dare. (That would be your spoiler alert folks.)

FROM ABC:
As Halloween approaches, Castle and Beckett are called to a graveyard where the body of a young man sporting vampire fangs has been discovered with a wooden stake driven through his heart. Their investigation takes them deep into the heart of New York's underground Vampire Fetish Community, where they learn that the secret motive for the victim's murder may be hiding within the pages of the graphic novel he was writing before his death.

I really like this show. At first i just started watching because it was right after DWTS but now its the higlight of the night. It reminds me of bones alot except i like the leading lady on this show more. I like his mother and daughter because it adds humor, and family values to go along with crime drama.
