No, they aren't canoodling. But Willis has a recurring role on Lanter's CW series "90210," and they co-star in the new horror flick "Sorority Row," which opened Friday.
Filming "90210" in sunny California with Willis, Lanter told me, was a lot different than when the pair shot "Sorority Row" in Pittsburgh.
"It was freezing cold up there and we shot in this abandoned meat packing plant. The whole thing had a creepy feeling about it, but we had a blast on set," he said. "Things tend to be really goofy in between takes, because you have to keep the mood light or else you'll just drive yourself nuts with the material."
In the film, a remake of the 1983 flick "The House on Sorority Row," Lanter plays a senator's son and the boyfriend of Theta Pi sorority queen bee Jessica (Leah Pipes), who lords over her sisters, forcing them to do something regrettably scary and bloody. Willis plays Ellie, a nervous, scared sister who goes along with Jessica's evil plan.
Despite the frightening story and crazy production conditions, Lanter was happy to be in Ohio because he was able to visit family during his time off.
"Every weekend I would just take a car and drive a couple of hours and get to see my family over there," he said. "Yeah, it was a real nice experience."
Lanter and Willis were reunited on the set of "90210."
"I gave her a big hug and said hello," Lanter said. "I don't know if she is going to be a regular recurring character that's going to stick around the whole season or what. But we're glad to have her."
