Ray Park lives dream playing Snake Eyes in 'G.I. Joe'

Ray Park insists that his latest film, "G.I. Joe: The Rise of the Cobra," doesn't suck.

"The movie's great," he told me Thursday, before heading to the L.A. premiere of the movie, in which he plays sword-wielding warrior Snake Eyes.

Park, who grew up in England playing with Snake Eyes action figures, said it was a dream role for him, one he had hoped to play for years.

"I wanted to be a Ninja [as a kid] and got into martial arts because of movies," the self-professed fanboy said. "I'm sort of reliving my childhood."

The film, which opens Friday, has not been screened for critics, which could be a sign it isn't very good. Park says that's not true this time.

"I really did enjoy the movie that I worked on," he said. "I thought [director] Stephen Sommers and the crew did a great job."

Park will be at Chicago Comic-Con on Saturday and Sunday in Rosemont. Go to wizardworld.com for more info.

The actor, who was born in Scotland, joins the cast of NBC's "Heroes" this fall. I'll have more from Park on his role as Edgar in the coming weeks.

Ahhh...but it DOES. It DOES suck! Any true Joe fan will tell you that the moment those 'accelerator suits' appeared in the trailer, the film was in trouble. And HOO-BOY would they be right!

Ha! I have not seen G.I. Joe, but I hear it wasn't worth it. Although I saw a lot of Twitter comments that said "Movie sucks, Ray Park is awesome." So maybe he was saying his parts of the movie didn't suck. LOL. Thanks for reading and commenting E.
