Subway will be part of 'Chuck' in NBC deal

NBC finally made the official announcement today: "Chuck" will be back next season, and Subway will be a major sponsor.
Go get a foot-long, people. Subway not only helped with the Twitter campaign to #savechuck, but the company has struck a deal with NBC to become a major sponsor, which means more Chuck, Sarah, Casey, Jeffster, Ellie and Awesome for all of us.
NBC says the show will return after the Winter Olympics. That's a long wait until next Spring.
"By involving Subway early in the process, we were able to bring a quality show like 'Chuck' back to NBC for next season," the network's co-chairman, Ben Silverman, said in a press release. "Everybody wins--NBC, Subway, and the loyal fans who so enthusiastically lobbied for 'Chuck's' renewal."
The deal means that we'll be seeing Subway in the show--"significant intergration"--as well as in commercials airing during the show.
I'm not as opposed to product placement in shows as many fans, but in this case I think we should all happily accept the fact that from now viewers will be seeing it more and more.
And honestly, if it means more "Chuck," have Sarah work at a Subway for all I care. I'm sure Josh Schwartz and Chris Fedak can come up with some funny storylines.
Sandwich phone anyone?
