This Friday's "Friday Night Du Jour" at Juicy Wine Company (694 N. Milwaukee) plans to donate a percentage of their proceeds to the AIDS Foundation of Chicago

Speaking of AIDS, this year's World AIDS Day posters are using Hitler as their mascot. Can we please retire him as the epitome of all evil already?

I think that, in the case of Brian Milligan, it's definitely a hate crime. If the situation was reversed--if you had 10 white men beating a black man who was dating a white woman--it would have been charged already, and everyone would have assumed the obvious (that it was racially motivated) right from the start.

I agree that it's definitely a hate crime, though apparently hate crimes are harder to convict. Is there truth to that?
