Mother and daughter arrested for running a brothel in suburbs

Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart has struck again. This time he's been working tirelessly to bust a house of ill repute in the suburbs.
"On June 3, members of Hillside and Berkeley police departments, along with Cook County Sheriff's officers, executed a search warrant at 5710 Hawthorne Ave. in Berkeley after a three-month investigation involving alleged prostitution."
Does it really take three months and multiple police departments to bust a mom n' pop my cherry shop? That may be a question for
Joe the Cop.
Eight people were taken into custody, and not just the sex workers, so
at least that's something, considering that johns are rarely
prosecuted. According to
rapeis.org,
"In 2002, the Chicago police department made 4,486 arrests
for prostitution-related offenses. That included 953 john-related
arrests and 67 arrests for pimping/pandering, so with the exception of
some men arrested for male prostitution, women were arrested at about
four times the rate men were."
But more about the brothel, from WBBM:
"Kimberly 'Big Kim' Miniea, 49, who lives at the residence with her
daughter Kimberly Petersen, 19, were charged with felony pandering and
keeping a house of prostitution."
My mom is a retired psychologist, and all this time I thought "Take
your Daughter to Work Day" at the psych ward was bad. Of course, WBBM
doesn't go into detail about the daughter, and what her involvement
may have actually entailed. It also doesn't ask the pertinent question: what is
up with all these
suburbanites named Petersen getting arrested?

Hey, thanks for thinking of me! I was going to respond here in the comment, but it turned into a whole 'nother post of its own

There was a Levitt and Venkatesh study of South Side workers, sex workers are arrested once every 450 tricks, while clients are arrested once every 1200 tricks. (And 3% of tricks by workers go to cops to avoid jail.)
