American Idol judge Simon Cowell told Oprah Winfrey on Monday's that he's betting on Adam Lambert to win the competition because, among other things, "he's got swagger."

Lambert's sexuality is generating quite a bit of news buzz lately. "Some people are saying, wouldn't it be amazing that in the same year that the first African-American president took office in the U.S., we also elected the first gay and/or bisexual 'American Idol'," said Robert Thompson, professor of popular culture at Syracuse University in New York, confusing the presidency with a karaoke contest.
