Bulls Drop Below .500 With Fifth Straight Loss

Sports reporter, sarcastic smartass, music lover, funny gal.

Despite 25 points from Derrick Rose and 20 from Brad Miller, the Chicago Bulls dropped a 132-108 decision to the Utah Jazz Tuesday night. Rose added a career-high tying 13 assists, but Jazz guard Deron Williams outshone his counterpart, putting up 28 points and a season-high 17 assists. Luol Deng rebounded from a bout with the flu yesterday to finish with 14 points, but he missed the entire fourth quarter with a strained calf.

The loss, Chicago's fifth straight, moved them to a game below .500 on the year. Not coincidentally, the contest was the team's fifth straight without big man Joakim Noah, who's expected to be out another two weeks with plantar fasciitis.

The Bulls were clinging to the eighth spot in the East heading into Tuesday night's game, but now fall into a three-way tie with Charlotte and Miami at 17.5 back. It wont get any easier for Chicago to try to stay in the hunt, as five of their next six games are on the road. To add insult to injury,  all but one of those six opponents boast better records than the Bulls.
