T.G.I.F. and all that crap. Here are some tips for this weekend.

GIVE: Bring an unopened toy to the Bears/Cardinals game this Sunday for The Walter & Connie Payton Foundation Toy Drive. Collection boxes will be stationed at most entrances to Soldier Field.  [More info at Payton34.com]

GO: Saturday night the Chicago Fire take on the New England Revolution in Game Two of their two-game playoff series. The Fire dropped Game One 2-1, so they need to win by at least two goals in order to advance to the Conference Finals. [Check out a game preview here]

GIGGLE: The theme of this year's Chicago Humanities Festival is "laughter". I suggest Saturday night's program featuring some of the greatest sketches ever to come out of Second City and Sunday's panels with award-winning playwright Tony Kushner and popular novelist Jonathan Lethem.  [More info at CHF]

Be GRATEFUL: No matter how frustrated Bears fans get with the team's offensive line or Ron Turner's play calling, be grateful that the Monsters of the Midway will never be as comically bad as the Detroit Lions...
