The Blackhawks, Bulls, Bears and Fire were all in action at some point this Halloween weekend. While Chicago fans were treated to a Hawks victory Friday night and a big Bears win on Sunday, they were also tricked into watching a few disappointing losses.
TREATS:
The Blackhawks kicked off the weekend with a 3-2 victory over the visiting Montreal Canadiens. Kris Versteeg, Cam Barker and Patrick Sharp each had a tally, but the highlight of the night came late in the game when the big screen showed two injured Hawks having a little fun with Halloween costumes...
Sunday afternoon the Bears rebounded from their devastating loss to the Bengals with a resounding 30-6 victory over the visiting Browns. It wasn't pretty, but it was a win. The day was dedicated to the memory of one of the game's best ever, Walter Payton, who always had a new trick up his sleeve.
TRICKS:
On Sunday, the Chicago Fire dropped a 2-1 decision to the New England Revolution in the first game of the Eastern Conference Semifinals. The two teams, who have faced each other in the playoffs for five years running, meet again Saturday in Chicago for the final leg of the two-game series.
The Bulls gave their fans double the trouble this weekend, dropping a 118-90 decision to the Boston Celtics Friday night, then falling 95-87 in Miami on Sunday. Highlights from a loss are always depressing, so enjoy this "treat" instead.
