Barker's Beauty, Sharpie's Shot Lead Hawks Past Avs
For the third time in as many meetings this season, the Chicago Blackhawks and the Colorado Avalanche were forced into a shootout. In their first contest the Hawks won in nine rounds; in their second, the Avs won in eight. This time, the Hawks needed only the usual three rounds to prevail.
Patrick Sharp's pretty backhander past Avs netminder Craig Anderson gave the Hawks a 3-2 win and helped Chicago improve to 10-5-2 on the season.
Sharp may have gotten the game-winner, but Cam Barker's beautiful tally to even things up in the third gets way more style points.
