Czeching In: Marty Havlat Returns To The UC
Just a few months ago, Marty Havlat was the darling of Chicago hockey, having just given the Blackhawks their first playoff victory in seven years with a game-winning overtime goal against the Flames. Despite the postseason heroics, the Blackhawks replaced Havlat with free agent Marian Hossa in the offseason.
Tonight Havlat returns to the United Center with his new team, the Minnesota Wild. He's missed a few games this season with a strained groin and he hasn't done much to help an anemic Minnesota offense that has left the Wild with a 3-7 record, good for dead last in the Northwest.
After Chicago let him go, Havlat stunned fans with bitter, angry
Twitter messages aimed at the Hawks organization. So to honor our
former hero, now opponent, the guys over at Second City Hockey, (who cover the Blackhawks better than just about anyone) wrote up this little Top Ten list for their Blackhawks newsletter, The Committed Indian.
Top 10 Martin Havlat Twitter Updates From MinnesotaI'm excited to hear what kind of reception Havlat gets at the United Center tonight. I hope the fans remember his spectacular season last year and give him a nice welcome back when he takes the ice. Of course, after that, I hope he gets crushed like the rest of 'em.
