How The Amateur Fills Out A March Madness Bracket.....

MIDWEST BRACKET:
 
#1 Kansas over #16 Lehigh - I know Kansas has been the most consistent team over the entire year.  However I look at the big three of college basketball every year.  Duke, Kansas, and North Carolina....they always seem to advance pretty far.  UNC isn't there this season and Duke is in another region, so I got Kansas going pretty far.
 
#9 Northern Iowa over #8 UNLV - Is Larry Johnson still playing??  That's the last time I remember UNLV being any good.  The seeding for N. Iowa is what catches my eye....nothing good comes out of Iowa anyway, so why the high seed.  I'm buying N. Iowa here.
 
#5 Michigan State over #12 New Mexico State - Tom Izzo....enough said.
 
#4 Maryland over #13 Houston - Maryland just a better team here although Houston playing better ball right now.  I've always been told coaches with experience always do better than coaches that do not.  Give me the turtles and Gary Williams.
 
#6 Tennessee over #16 San Diego State - Bruce Pearl is a beast!!  Plus in San Diego....no one cares about sports.  Padres = bad.  Chargers = choke.  Their hockey team is named "The Gulls"....come on.
 
#3 Georgetown over #14 Ohio - I love the Hoyas!!  This is a team I've always loved watching....when they're successful.
 
#7 Oklahoma State over #10 Georgia Tech - Grew up in Texas and OK State is the only representative from OK.....Oklahoma knows only one thing....football.
 
#2 Ohio State over #15 UC Santa Barbara - Evan Turner is not going to lose to a bunch of Gauchos....
 
WEST BRACKET:
 
#1 Syracuse over #16 Vermont - The committee put Syracuse in Buffalo, NY for their first two games.....can we say HOME COURT!!
 
#9 Florida State over. #8 Gonzaga - The spear scares the living daylights out of me, and plus their uni's are tight!!
 
#5 Butler over #12 UTEP - El Paso (also known as little Mexico)....come on.  They're better at track than basketball in west Texas.  Plus the rumored next coach of DePaul is coaching UTEP....can't be that good.
 
#4 Vanderbilt over #13 Murray State - Don't know anything about these two teams.....Hunter Hillenmeyer is from Vandy and he's a smart dude.....brains over braun I say.
 
#11 Minnesota over #6 Xavier - Tubby Smith has been there, and watching MIN this weekend....there grateful for their chance to dance.....I think they'll take advantage.
 
#3 Pittsburgh over #14 Oakland - Unless it's a pickup game at a playground, I'll take Pittsburgh.  Again...experience.
 
#7 BYU over #10 Florida - If the Gators don't have Tebow, they can't win.....even over a bunch of Mormons.
 
#2 Kansas State over #15 North Texas -  I grew up in Ft. Worth, Texas...bout 25 minutes south of Denton, TX.  UNT was bad back then, and I can't imagine they are any good now.
 
EAST BRACKET
 
#1 Kentucky over #16 E. Tennessee State - John Wall....that's all I've heard about Kentucky.
 
#8 Texas over #9 Wake Forest - Again....from Texas, and Wake hasn't been significant since Tim Duncan left.
 
#12 Cornell over #5 Temple - I can't imagine a school Bill Cosby is an alum of going far at all.  Plus there mascot is an Owl.....Owl's are good at standing still and watching.
 
#4 Wisconsin over #13 Wofford - OK.....first person to tell me where Wofford is wins a shiny nickle!!!
 
#6 Marquette over #11 Washington - I work with a guy who graduated from Marquette....he said take them.
 
#3 New Mexico over #14 Montana - Do they even know what basketball is in Montana?  Have you ever known anyone who lived in Montana?  I haven't.
 
#7 Clemson over #10 Missouri - The only way this Tigers' match up gets better is if Tiger Woods is in the building eating Frosted Flakes listening to Survivor's one hit..."Eye Of The Tiger."
 
#2 West Virginia over #15 Morgan State - Bob Huggins.....the meanest SOB in college basketball since Bobby Knight.  Weren't they supposed to be a #1 seed??  Motivation??  I believe so.
 
SOUTH BRACKET:
 
#1 Duke over __________ - Why have the play in game?  Makes no sense.
 
#9 Louisville over #8 California - Again....experience.  Rick Pitino been there, and will win this one.
 
#5 Texas A&M over Utah State - A battle of Aggies but the 12th man be present.  BTW...an Aggie....WTF is that?
 
#13 Siena over #4 Purdue - Two words....No Hummel.
 
#6 Notre Dame over #11 Old Dominion - Luck of the Irish gets them to the next game....unlike their football team.
 
#3 Baylor over #14 Sam Houston State - A battle of Texas teams, but the bigger university wins this one.
 
#10 St. Mary's over #7 Richmond - Any team named Spiders can't be all that....just like a spider's web, this is a trap game.
 
#2 Villanova over #15 Robert Morris - I didn't know Robert Morris college had a basketball team....I see their bookstore all the time on State Street.  Love to go local, but I can't.  Oh wait, they are not from Chicago.....Moon Township, PA??
 
Now I could be wrong on MOST of these games, but sometimes the most simplistic logic is what gets your bracket the furthest.  Whether it be looking up stats, players, coaches or even flipping a coin to make your pick....this is what makes March Madness fun for everyone.
