Here's a round up of this week's real estate news

- Developer and school board president Michael Scott was working on near south side projects: Before his suicide, he had been a consultant to developer Gerald Fogelson on the Olympic Village site, as well as other housing and condo developments like Eastgate Village, according to this Sun-Times article.

-Chicago sports figures are putting their houses on the market because of trades, owning other real estate: This Tribune article tells  about Ryan Dempster's 5,300 square foot Lakeview mansion that went on the market on Monday and Nikolai Khabibulin's three-bedroom River North condo, which is being rented out for $5,150.

-Church converted to condos in Joliet Each of these 18 historic units in the downtown area is unique. prices range from $175,000 to $275,000.

-Twice as many luxury homes are upside down in their mortgages as lower-prices homes Bloomberg reports that buyers of especially second and third homes in the over $1 million range have a 12 percent foreclosure rate, whereas those under $275,000 have just a 6 percent rate.
