Today, I toured a pretty impressive townhouse at 345 W. Barry with the help of Prudential Rubloff's Lesa Lee. I was pleasantly suprised by the spaciousness of the three-story, 2,100 square foot unit just across the street from the park and lakeshore.

Listed at $639,000, most of the 1978 home has been updated within the last five years by its current owner, including the staircase and the furnace. The washer and dryer are full-size, on the second floor and less than two years old.

Currently the smallest bedroom has been renovated into an office (no closet), and the guest bedroom has its own bathroom across the hall with the sink separated from the rest by a door. Outdoor space includes a deck outside the third-floor master bedroom and a first floor patio.

The kitchen and living room are slightly small, but are nicely separated from the rest of the house by being on the first floor. The half-bathroom adjoining the kitchen is convenient for guests

Overall, the unit is in great shape, although if you don't like the red paint and wallpaper in some rooms you may have some work ahead of you. the location is beautiful, if not a little far from the L for anyone who commutes downtown. A private garage parking space is available with the unit, and association fees are low as the 8 units in the building share only a few common spaces
