McDonald's A-Z: Food around the world [PICS]
The food McDonald's serves around the world may be different from what you're used to ordering. Here's a journey of food from A-Z, one country per letter. Well, for the most part.
This isn't meant to imply that these menu items are unique to the country listed, but you can definitely get them there. Let me know what you think in the comments.

Brekkie snack wrap contains bacon, egg and BBQ sauce in a tortilla.
The CBO is chicken, bacon and onions. Oh, and cheese! Add another C.
McLobster was also available at select locations in the U.S., but only in New England.
Mmmm. Donuts.
Yes, that's a Kit-Kat McFlurry. Almost as good as the shamrock shake, I'm sure.
The Chicken Shake. I thought it was ice cream, too, but it's not. Oooh-la-la.
Doesn't sound traditional to the area, but the formaggi misti sandwich is pretty popular, I hear.
Omelet sandwich.
McItaly has caused all kinds of controversy lately, with Italians saying the sandwich doesn't represent their country's culture. I counter with it has asiago cheese. McItaly wins.
Big Hawaiian has bacon, egg, cheese and more. Domo arrigato, Ronald McDonald.
That's the McArabia chicken, my friends. It's wrapped in a pita. I want to go to there.
I wouldn't have connected strawberry pie to Lebanon, but you can.
Just in time for Chinese New Year comes the Double Prosperity - beef or chicken with onions and black pepper sauce.
Took me a long time to figure out what a groenteburger was, but it's a veggie burger!
That's the chicken gourmet happy meal.
Oh my, would you look at that interesting combination. It's the McDo with spaghetti! A chicken drumstick at McDonald's! Served with spaghetti? Wild. Plus, in the Philippines, McDonald's delivers. Cool.
They call this the chickenburger.
Pancakes. No, actually blini.
McWings! They have wings at McDonald's in Singapore. Awesome.
I'm not sure what exactly is in the Kofteburger, but I'd try it.
Yes, my friends, those are chocolate fudge covered pancakes. That should be available everywhere!
McQueso is all about the cheese. I love cheese.
Sweet chilli chicken deli. I would try that in an instant.
Like the cute puppy says: Sorry. First off, there are no countries that start with X. And there are no countries starting with Y and Z that have McDonald's. But rest assured, when that changes I'll be on it. Woof.

I want to see a "International McDonald's" open up in Chicagoland where some (or all) of these items are available on the menu. Now I'm hungry.

Our menus are so boring in comparison!

India's McDonald's menu doesn't have any beef on it--just veg, chicken and fish. And a pizza McPuff, which I would have to admit is really delicious if I didn't hate McDonald's so much. Definitely more exciting here than in the U.S.--plus, the floors are marble.

Whenever I'm in a foreign country, I love checking out the local menu items at McDonalds. So this gallery is right up my alley! The Double Prosperity looks awesome! Has anyone ever had a McLobster?

Good grief! I nearly had a heart attack when I thought you'd found an X-Y-Z McD that serves puppy meat. Guess that comes with watching No Reservations.

Scott Kleinberg you are an idiot. Wales is a country, please learn basic Geography.
jwool said:
Also, those delis can be found all over the UK, not just Wales
Scott Kleinberg said:
Actually, I'm pretty decent at geography but it was dumb of me to say Wales isn't a country - I was wrong and I corrected it. Thanks for pointing it out - I hope you'll change your opinion of me and not think I'm truly an idiot.
Yemen (Starts with a "Y") has 56 McDonalds! Why isn't it on the list?
Scott Kleinberg said:
Actually an excellent question, Jeremiah. My thinking when I did this was to have a different item in each location. Yemen falls under the McDonald's of Arabia (Oman, Lebanon, Kuwait, etc.) and those locations all have the same things. So there was nothing else unique about Yemen by the time I was done with the list and I didn't want to go against the original idea. But still- a great question.
Thank you for the explanation. I've been to Qatar, which I assume is apart of McDonald's arabia as well, and they had some type of Curry Chicken burger thing. I would imagine Yemen might have something similar on their menu. I loved the list though and I am an avid McDonald's fan myself. I don't prefer to eat there too frequently though, but it's a nice little luxury once in a while. I read Ray Kroc's "Grinding It Out" (the story of the founding of McDonald's), and it was a great read.
Thanks for making this awesome list.

it 's funny how macdonalds can innovate ,i think they should try some of their foreign meals in the us...
Scott Kleinberg said:
I agree totally, barre2009 - there are lots of things that I'm sure McDonald's thinks better suits international diners, but I see plenty of things that I'm pretty sure I'd enjoy here.

Ronald McDonald is actually called Donald McDonald in Japan.
New Aealand has the Kiwi burger which has beetroot on it. It also had it's own song but it is discontinued at the moment.

In Japan (I used to live there), there was the Teriyaki Burger, which was a pork patty with a good sweet teriyaki sauce. Also, in Thailand, it was the same sandwich, but translated to the Samurai Pork-berger.
And Macaroni & Cheese in japan too.
Scott Kleinberg said:
Mac and cheese? So what's that, McMacncheese?

When touring Europe on a budget, McD is hard to ignore or avoid: inexpensive and familiar. I distinctly remember one in Paris where the cashier served me two large Sprites and no food thanks to the language barrier.

In the Philippines they had the McRice burger back in 2007-2008. Here's the pic: http://farm1.static.flickr.com/93/258970659_3d91494715.jpg
That was one of the weirdest food combinations ever.
But McDonald's back there delivers 24 hours. That's one thing America needs to have!
Scott Kleinberg said:
Whoa! McRice burger. That's so cool. And yeah - you'd think that McDonald's delivery would do awesome - especially in an office setting.

Honestly, I don't think McDonalds from any country on earth serves very appetizing food that I just can't resist. Maybe some dessert McFlurries or IceCream, but fast-food is fast-food no matter what country your in.
