Kathleen Marshall, a teacher, wrote to "Going Public" with concerns about the upcoming service cuts.

"Last year, with the No. X54 Cicero bus, I left my house at 5:42 a.m., got the 63rd Street bus at my corner at 5:46 and was able to catch the first No. X54 Cicero bus of the day at 6:03 a.m.

This got me to the corner of Belmont and Cicero at 6:47 a.m. - just in  time to catch the 6:50 a.m. Belmont bus. Thus, I arrived at my school shortly after 7 a.m.  As our starting time was officially 8 a.m., this gave me ample time to prepare for classes - even if we had morning meetings.

This year is quite different.  We have meetings every morning at 7:35 (five minutes after our official arrival time). ... I generally clock in at school by 6:48 a.m.

To make a long story very short, I am quite concerned about the changes to my commute.  I have thus far been unable to get any specifics except for the changes in the Orange Line. Just hearing those makes me deeply worried. I do not drive and it takes me 11/2 to two hours back and forth."

If Ms. Marshall wants specifics about the changes to her route, she should avail herself of the resources available to her.

She could check out the CTA's website for the new scheduled effective February 7 (I saw them posted last week).

Or she could try out the Google Transit link on the CTA's home page. If she tried to planned her trip for next Monday, Google Transit will give her the new schedules and timepoints for her commute.
