Ava Corn wrote to "Going Public" with a compliment about a "happy Brown Line" operator.
"Yesterday was another Monday, until I got the Happy Brown Line Operator. I have been on his trains before and he never fails to put a smile on my face as well as light up the passengers around me, which is hard to do on a Monday.
Instead of letting the automated stop announcements come over the PA, he announces the stops himself.
That is followed by, 'Dust the cobwebs outta your head, it's Monday and it's time to go to work. Happy birthday, happy anniversary, happy, happy, happy. Be safe and have fun.'
And when it's raining, he always reminds you to grab your umbrella.
I just wanted to let other readers know that the CTA can be a shining moment in your day. I hope everyone has a chance to ride his train or get an operator with equal enthusiasm about driving for the CTA. "

Wonderful! And I hope he doesn't leave out information that the automated announcements give, for the sake of visually impaired people. Typically the operators don't say which doors will open, which kind of matters if you're blind, or if you're anybody and the train is packed and you're not familiar with the stations on that line.

I wonder if it's the same guy who usually conducts the Red Line trains. It sounds very similar-- he even told us "May the Force Be With You" and wished us a "Dunkin Donuts Day." Totally made my morning.

I've had this operator a few times, and I love it! And yes, he does indicate if the doors are opening/closing. Great way to start the day! Enjoy!
