Rider: Here's how to save CTA express buses

user-pic
Rich Peterson wrote to "Going Public" with an idea for express bus service. What do you think of this idea?

"Just my 2 cents on how the city might be able to help with travel times when the express service is eliminated.

The city should help the CTA with the express bus routes. On the routes that need to be cut the city should make a rush-hour tow zone parking restriction bus lane.

The city would tow every car parked on the bus lane starting at 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. This would also allow the snow plows to remove snow in the bus lane. The buses would be able to have their own lane from say Austin Avenue on the No. X20 Washington-Madison bus all the way into the Loop.

The city would get revenue for all the cars they need to tow. The riders would get a faster trip to the Loop than they would on an express bus."
