Derek Miller wrote to "Going Public" with complaints about CTA and Metra. "GP" encourages customers who experience bad or good customer service to note the employee's badge number and contact the CTA. Contact information is here. Miller's letter continues after the jump.
"I am sure you get hundreds of these e-mails but I am appalled and outraged with the atrocities that I see happening with the CTA.
It utterly disgusts me not only how much money they make but also when you consider the plush benefits, how much these people are rewarded for substandard service.
I have been cursed out by a CTA bus driver once for shaking my head when the bus drove past the stop. I was so angry I stood in front of the bus and reported him on the spot. I reported him but figured that this incident would go unpunished due to the fact that they hid behind their unions. ...

CTA rider: Why pay for 'horrible treatment?'
I remember one Metra trip where I got on the train and my bag got stuck
in the door. The conductor called me stupid and ignorant and he
belittled me in front of seven to 10 passengers.
I just wanted to know why are we paying so much for such horrible treatment? Do the bus drivers, train operators, and others who make more than the average person using their service know that the price of their labor is destroying the utility of a system and could lead to a mini-economic downturn in this city when no one can get to work?
Finally, in response to the story about the woman whose baby carriage [allegedly] got stuck in the door...
I saw the CTA's response was that the operators always check the doors visually but I have seen numerous times the train operator close the doors and not even peek out the train to check.
They also just put their heads down to text and engage the throttle of the train without even looking at whats ahead."

I hope Prince Miller understands not all CTA employees wake up in the morning strictly with the intention of screwing up HIS day. Also, I hope he can learn that not all CTA employees are making mountains of cash, trying to single handedly shut down the U.S. economy with our monstrous salaries. Some of us are struggling just to make ends meet.
